Building a Siren: Will Round Ports work?
I'm attempting to build a small siren, but I do not have the tools required to cut rectangular ports like in most air raid sirens. I could much more easily drill round ports in the stator and chopper, and then place vertical blades in the chopper to draw air in. Will round ports work just as well as rectangular ones? Thanks for any help.

Round ports will work, but straight lines will produce more distinct
shock waves.
