Which circular saw blade to use for cutting cement stucco covered drywall?
I need to remove large piece of drywall in the basement (to fix a leak). Usually utility knife or drywall saw is recommended, however my drywall is covered with thick cement (or some other hard material) stucco. I did manage to cut a piece off with drywall saw but I want to make another cut right in the middle of the stud, so later I can re-attach new drywall piece. Best tool seems to be cordless circular saw (5-1/2" blade), but I'm not sure if blade I have attached right now will not break and injure me (it's 18-tooth carbide blade, and sparks flying when I try to cut this drywall). Is there a special blade I can use for this job? Or perhaps someone has another suggestion all-together? Thanks!
Thanks for great answers! BTW, a friend of mine suggested using angle grinder instead, I think it's a best idea so far 
Go to Home Depot or similar store, ask in the tools department.
There are abrasive cutting blades that go through cement.
You can cut alongside the stud, then add a nailing strip.
