No, a synthetic diamond is chemically and structurally identical, and physically identical in all ways, all properties to a natural diamond. There is no scientific test that can be done to determine one from the other. The thing that very experienced gemologists and jewelers may notice is that natural diamonds are rarely perfect. Synthetics, on the other had, are completely (or near-completely) devoid of any non-carbon inclusions, visible fracture planes, etc. This perfection can cause a gemologist to suspect that a diamond is not natural -- but it cannot in any way be proven.
