What's the difference between a jitterbug sander and a dual action sander?

I understand how both work but trying to figure out what the benefits of each are. I figure jitterbugs can get into tight corners. Does one sand faster than the other?

The biggest difference is that the DA sander leaves more random marks than a jitterbug. If you're doing body work, the jitterbug tends to leave a zig-zag like pattern of slightly deeper grooves, when you compare the same grit paper. You can still get a good finish out of both (I used a "cat" sander on my rear deck, and it only took a very light coat of glaze to get rid of the extra marks).

The jitterbug seems to load up quicker as well, but that could just be my suspicion. When I was cutting through some of the filler, the jitterbug seemed to load up in patches, while the DA would normally just lose bite. Sanding speed? I don't know - I've never done a "heads-up" !
