Bent pins on processor?

Could you please give an idiot some suggestions on how to fix bent pins on a processor. I replaced my motherboard with the same exact type and transfered the old processor to the new board. I then made sure it lined up and went on the right way with the socket arm all the way up. I preceded to put the socket arm down and it seemed as if it was locked into the socket until I turned on the PC to test it. Well, I didnt get anything but a black screen so I checked the processor again and when I lifted it out of the socket after pushing the arm up, I noticed there were a few bent pins. If the pins are bent, is the processor damaged ??? If not, is there an easy way to bend them back into place because I am having a hell of a time using a precision flathead screwdriver and I am starting to get cross-eyed (lol) trying to straighten these pins out...Any suggestions please. Thank You !!!!

IF you can straighten them again it will be fine.

You have to be VERY careful not to break a pin. The tool you are using should be fine.
