Propane Mapp Torch

What propane mapp torch would you call great and recommend?

Hello,

I am looking into bonding aluminum together by using a mapp torch, flux and something called 'super allow 5'. I have never heard of super alloy 5 before, but that is likely because I have little knowledge of anything involving welding and the like, http://www.muggyweld.com/index2.html This is the website containing the products that I am interested in that have to do with propane and map torches. I watched a few videos and this stuff seems perfect and exactly what I want in terms of simplicity, cost and use. If you know of any other websites that have products similar to these, like a rod that can be melted to enable the bonding of aluminum and other metals as well, I would love to hear about them.

Pure mapp gas torch is even hotter than your propane/mapp blended gas. I like the type that has a trigger in the handle you press and it lights the gas as it turns it on. let go of the trigger and the flame goes out. Great gas saver when your thinking on what you are going to do next.
'Alumiweld' is another type of 'super alloy 5' that you are looking to use. Dura Fix is another. I buy Alum-a-weld at Harbor Freight in the welding rod section.

If the material you are using is thick aluminum, then you will need a hotter torch. the thicker aluminum will suck up the heat of a smaller torch and barely allow you to get it hot enough to melt the rod. So I suggest you start with a mapp gas first.

I had to use an acetylene torch with a feather tip on a large aluminum casing that I was trying to repair since my mapp torch just couldn't get it hot enough fast enough.
