Sea Fishing Off My Jetski HELP !!!?

Hi,
i have only done light fishing in the past off a friends boat.
i want to start fishing off my jetski, i have bought some equipment and i just need some help, hints and tips.
I will be fishing in the area of north Wales, Cardigan Bay, Gwynedd mainly abersoch.

You did not mention a life jacket. The purpose is obvious and self explanatory. You sounded as if you are going out there alone. If you are venturing out far or heading to areas with little boat traffic, being alone isn't safe. I'm pretty sure you know the jet ski should automatically turn itself off when you fell off. Well, mechanical devices aren't 100% reliable. I've seen a guys fell off and their jet ski just kept on going. In one of the incidents, the guy's jet ski continued to go straight at a pretty high speed after he fell off. It was a very funny sight at first until someone realized that it is not going to stop by itself until it ran out of fuel. We end up chasing after the unmanned jet ski in the open sea. It took us a good 15 minutes to catch up with that thing. Due to choppy waters, we used at least another good 15 minutes to stop it. By the time we got back, we are very low on fuel already. If this kind of thing happened and you're way out there alone, the consequences would be unimaginable. By the way, that jet ski with faulty kill switch was pretty new.

My advises: Do not leave without a life jacket and try not to venture out far alone.

As for fishing, 5/0 size hooks are too big for mackerels. 5/0 hooks are good enough for tunas already. Your 5/0 Hokki Pink Tail rig will be better suited for bottom fish with large mouth (if there are any in the area). For mackerels, rigs with size 4 hooks are plenty for open waters. Instead of 2 sets, I'll bring at least one extra set for insurance. If you failed to keep enough tension on the line, those rigs could tangle especially when there're more than 3 fish on it. Untangling those rigs could be difficult and sometimes impossible. I'd recommend that you also bring extra set of rigs similar to Hokki Pink Tail with size 8 and/or size 10 hooks for small baitfish. Live baitfish will work on a good variety of fish (but I'll not waste live baits on mackerels); small mackerels could be used as live bait as well. If there is a possibility that live baitfish will be used, I'll bring a small assortment of live bait hooks between size 4 to size 5/0. I'll also bring a punctured bucket with lid which will serve as a live bait well. Collapsable live bait cage will also work. If you're willing to carry more items, I'd recommend a couple irons such as Tady AA which could be used for yoyoing as well as on the surface.

By the way, why do you want to carry a big spool of line with you? I think a small spool of fluorocarbon leader will serve you much better.
