In the electrical engineering now a days VFD is used for speed control of motors,explain in detail?

explain in detail with control circuits how the speed control of electric motors is achieved through variable frequency drive. what are all the advantages and disadvantages?

VFDs are used to control the speed of AC motors only.

The speed of the motor is directly proportional to the frequency of the supply so when we change the frequency of the supply voltage ....the speed changes.
